Patricia Sanders

& Allison Montgomery

Patricia Sanders (nee Wylie), lived in Eden Mills as a young girl from 1948-1952 at which time she moved back to Guelph where she was originally born. She attended GCVI High School in Guelph and attended teachers’ college in Hamilton . She taught for the Hamilton Board of Education for over 30 years and was married to Mark Sanders for 41 years.

Patricia had two children, Allison (co-author) and Grant, and five granddaughters: Olivia, Dana, Kaitlyn, Christiane, and Madelyn, to whom she told many adventurous bedtime stories. Sadly, she passed away in April 2005 at the young age of 64.

Patricia wrote the first three chapters of The Adventures of Eden Mills. The remaining eight chapters have been written by her daughter Allison Montgomery following an outline of events that she wanted to include, as well as from Allison’s own memory. Most of the events that are included in this story are from Patricia’s experiences as a child, and some are fictional.

Allison followed in her mother’s footsteps and also became a school teacher. She shares the love of reading and writing with her mother and specializes as a Literacy Improvement Teacher.
