Hanna's
Silence
by
Marilyn
Lee Ayres
Mystery! Romance! Abuse! Love! Hate!
They’re all are here in a
superb novel about Hanna - a
mystery child who is
unexpectedly delivered to school
by her father - or is he?
Hanna is obviously troubled as
she demonstrates by producing a
large butcher knife and
threatening her classmates,
accusing them of being the
Listeners!
Emily,
her teacher, is taken by
this beautiful child who
obviously has problems, so she
begins her own investigation to
find out the truth about this
daunting little girl. The result
is a wonderful story that can be
read by all members of the
family.
As
with her first novel, Inheritance
of Gold, Marilyn Lee
Ayres sets the scene in her
childhood home of Kirkland Lake,
a small mining community in
Northern Ontario. The rough
yet warm-hearted characters carry
the story in a mysterious way as Emily
persists with her search for the
truth.
