Story
Sermons covers a wide
range of topics which are
suitable for many age levels.
Seniors in a long term care
home in Brantford, Ontario
have enjoyed them immensely.
Many
are biblical with an attempt
to place the reader within the
biblical setting. Twentieth
century stories present a
number of points of view and
are intended to foster
thinking about the spiritual
life.
Some
stories encourage prayer; some
present an orthodox theology;
and others encourage more
independent ideas. They can be
used at family worship time,
in the pulpit, at Sunday
School, or simply as bedtime
or anytime stories. They are
particularly useful for
persons without a Christian
background. A number of
stories lend themselves to
dramatic presentation, while
others can be used as
dialogue.
It
is hoped that all of the
stories will provide insight
and inspiration. The author
has noted a dearth of story
sermon material, which she
hopes this volume will fill.
